Animal Report and Diorama Project
Our animal report and diorama project is being sent home this Friday (May 5, 2017)!  This is a fun assignment that students are very proud to bring to school and show off!  Students will present their animal reports to the class and use the diorama to show their animal in it's habitat.

Students have been assigned an animal to complete their diorama and report on.  Information about their animal is included in the information sent home.  Your child must complete their report on the assigned animal, they may not change to a different animal.
The assignment is due Friday, May 15, 2017.  Please check your child's daily folder and read through the information carefully.  This is a mandatory assignment.  The written portions must be completed and written by your child.   If you need a shoe box and/or construction paper to complete the diorama, please contact me ASAP so that I can send them home before the weekend!

Flexible Seating and Flamingos

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!

This year we hae flexible seating in our classroom.  Students do not have assigned seats and we frequently move throughout the day.  Research shows that learning and movement are inextricably intertwined, so we are incorporating as much movement in our day as possible.  Students have the option of standing, sitting on the floor, or sitting on exercise balls.  More seating options will be introduced as I'm able to obtain different seating options.  Here's a quick look at alternative seating in action (students were taking a test during this time.)

Below is some of our flamingo art.  We have a sign saying, "Be a Flamingo in a Flock of Pigeons."  We talked about being ourselves even if we are little bit different than our friends.  Flamingos are unique and beautiful and so are we!

Check back soon for more snippets of our classroom life!
